Our History and Focus

Cabrillo Credit Union was founded in 1955 to serve the financial needs of Border Patrol agents and their families. Since then we’ve added other federal employee groups, Sharp Healthcare, City of Carlsbad employees, in addition to anyone who lives or works in San Diego County. We’ve also partnered with the Fraternal Order of Retired Border Patrol Officers (FORBPO), as a way for agents who had worked or had headquartered in San Diego County, California to join Cabrillo and enjoy all the benefits of credit union membership.

As a member-owner of the credit union, your share is established with a $5 opening deposit into the savings account.

Shared Branches

Cabrillo is a member of the Shared Branch Network (5,000 nationwide), which means you can walk into other Shared Branch affiliated credit unions nationwide, to make deposits and withdrawals at their teller windows. Just tell them you're a Cabrillo member and they can access directly to your account for transactions.
